On February 8th, the Zengdu District Special Purpose Vehicle Industry Transformation and Upgrade Promotion Conference was held in Suizhou, the China Special Purpose Vehicle Capital. The main venue was set at Chengli Automobile (Zengdu) Industrial Park, a leading enterprise in Suizhou’s special purpose vehicle industry, where the Largest Shared E-Coat Line was recently completed and put into production. On the morning of the same day, more than 300 participants attended the grand event, including representatives from over 200 Special Purpose Vehicle manufacturers in the city, leaders of municipal and district governments, heads of government functional departments, guests from Chengdu Yiwei Company (a leading domestic manufacturer of new energy vehicle chassis), and journalists from provincial and municipal news media.
The National LargestShared E-Coat (Electrocoating) Line for Special Purpose Vehicles has been completed and put into production by Chengli Automobile Group in Zengdu District, Suizhou City. As one of the leading Special Purpose Vehicle Manufacturers in Suizhou, Hubei Chengli Group invested 130 million yuan in building this line, which has an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons and can meet the electrocoating needs of Suizhou’s Special Purpose Vehicles industry.
Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the new energy commercial vehicle chassis project, a cooperation between Chengli Group and Chengdu Yiwei New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., was also held on the same day.
Anti-rust treatment has always been an unavoidable issue in the Special Purpose Vehicle industry, as the quality of anti-rust treatment is directly related to the service life of products. Before the emergence of electrocoating technology, pickling and phosphating processes were commonly used in the industry, which resulted in relatively short product service life and were not conducive to environmental protection.
In April 2022, the electrocoating workshop of Chengli Group broke ground with a total investment of 130 million yuan. The workshop is 168 meters long and 27 meters wide, capable of performing electrocoating operations on workpieces with a length of 9 meters, a width of 3 meters, a height of 3 meters, and a weight of 5 tons.
With an annual production capacity of 20,000 units, it is currently the largest electrocoating production line in Suizhou in terms of tank size, with the most complete processes and the most advanced technology. The E-Coat Line boasts advantages such as fast construction speed, reduced labor intensity, non-toxicity, and easy operation. It has excellent adhesion, and its rust resistance, corrosion resistance, and other performance are superior to ordinary paint and general construction methods.
At the scene of the Zengdu District Special Purpose Vehicle Industry Transformation and Upgrade Promotion Conference held that day, representatives from enterprises such as Zhongheng Automobile, Qidong Special Purpose Vehicle, Wanglong Special Purpose Vehicle, Xinsheng Environmental Sanitation Technology, and Yingtong Special Purpose Vehicle signed electrocoating business cooperation agreements with Chengli Group.
It is understood that the electrification and intelligence of the Automotive Industry are an irreversible trend of the times. Compared with passenger vehicles, the electrification transformation of Special Purpose Vehicles is relatively slow and must accelerate to keep up with the general development trend.
