From a Small Workshop to a Global Special-Purpose Vehicle Manufacturer

In his opening address, Chengli Group Chairman Cheng Aluo reviewed the company’s development since its establishment in 2004. “In 2004, Chengli started on open land in Suizhou with only 60 employees and annual output of less than RMB 6 million,” he said.

Today, Chengli Group operates 6 production bases across Suizhou, Wuhan, and Xiangyang, employs more than 13,000 people, and supplies specialty and commercial vehicles to international markets.

In 2025, Chengli ranked No. 320 among China’s Top 500 Private Enterprises, while the value of its specialty vehicle exports approached USD 100 million.

Over more than two decades, the company has expanded from traditional special-purpose vehicle manufacturing into new energy vehicles, intelligent equipment, heavy-duty engineering vehicles, emergency response equipment, and international vehicle cooperation projects.

A major highlight of the conference was the signing of customer contracts covering about 1,600 vehicles, including water trucks, vacuum sewage trucks, and refrigerated vehicles.

Chengli Group also announced cooperation agreements for five overseas KD assembly projects in:

  • Saudi Arabia
  • Indonesia
  • North Sudan
  • Bangladesh
  • Kyrgyzstan

These projects form part of Chengli’s international development strategy to strengthen localized vehicle assembly, technical support, spare-parts supply, and after-sales service in key overseas markets.

By developing local KD and SKD cooperation networks, Chengli aims to work more closely with international distributors, fleet operators, project contractors, and local manufacturing partners.
